How to Do the Bottle Kick Challenge With AI (From One Photo)
How to do the bottle kick challenge AI trend from one photo: kung-fu stance, practice kicks, the real kick, flying bottles and a painful hop out of frame.
The bottle kick challenge is back, and this time nobody has to actually kick anything. Someone bows to the camera like a martial-arts master, drops into a kung-fu stance, fires off a few very serious practice kicks, then goes for the real one: the bottles fly, the box tips over and they hop out of the frame holding their foot. This guide covers where the trend comes from, why it spread, and how to make a 10-second version starring you from 1 photo with the AI Bottle Kick Challenge template on Viberot.

Where the bottle kick challenge comes from#
The original bottle cap challenge took over social media in the summer of 2019. Martial artists, athletes and actors spun a roundhouse kick at a bottle and tried to unscrew the cap with their foot, and millions of people tried to copy them, mostly badly.
In October 2026 it came back in two waves. First, comedians posted stacked-bottle kick skits that ended in very funny fails. Then an AI clip took over: a serious-looking man poses next to two bottles stacked on a box, practises his kick, finally kicks for real, knocks everything over and limps off. Reposts of that clip passed millions of views, and people started making their own AI versions with themselves, their friends and their pets as the kicker.
Why it went viral#
- The build-up is the joke. The bow and the dead-serious practice kicks make the crash much funnier.
- Everyone knows the fail. Kicking something too hard and hopping around holding your foot is universal.
- It is short. The whole skit is over in about ten seconds, perfect for a loop.
- No skill needed. You do not need to be able to kick; the AI does the stunt for you.
- Easy to remix. Your dad, your boss, your best friend: anyone can star in it, with their permission.
The skit, second by second#
Here is what the 10-second version you get looks like. It is one static shot, like a phone on a tripod:
- 0–2s: The bow. You stand next to a waist-high crate with two water bottles stacked on top, bow to the camera with a straight face and drop into a kung-fu stance.
- 2–5s: Practice kicks. Three slow, careful kicks that stop just short of the bottles, each followed by a confident nod.
- 5–6.5s: The real kick. One fast, high side kick. Both bottles fly off and the crate tips over.
- 6.5–8.5s: Instant regret. You grab your foot and hop on one leg, face scrunched in pain.
- 8.5–10s: The exit. Still holding your foot, you hop out of the frame, leaving the bottles rolling on the floor.
You wear the outfit from your photo, and the background of your photo stays as the setting. The clip comes with sound effects: whooshes, the thunk of the kick, bottles clattering and a short "ow".
Step by step: how to do the bottle kick challenge with AI#
- Open the template. Go to the AI Bottle Kick Challenge page and sign in.
- Upload one photo. A clear photo of one person, face visible. Full body works best, so the kick fits in the frame.
- Pick the aspect ratio. 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, or 16:9 for YouTube.
- Pick a quality. Standard 480p or 720p is enough for social. Higher tiers give more detail and cost more.
- Generate. No prompt to write: the crate, the bottles, every move and its timing are already set. Rendering usually takes a few minutes.
- Post it. You get a 10-second MP4 with sound effects. Post it as it is, or add a trending sound in TikTok or CapCut.
Picking a photo that works#
| Works well | Causes trouble |
|---|---|
| One person, face clearly visible | Group photos where the face is tiny |
| Full body, head to shoes in frame | Close-ups that crop off the legs |
| Even light, sharp focus | Heavy filters, very dark or blurry photos |
| Hands free | Holding a drink, a bag or a phone |
| A room or a backyard with some floor space | Busy crowds behind you |
- Your outfit stays yours. No karate uniform is swapped in: you kick in what you wear in the photo, suit and all.
- Your background is the dojo. The crate and the bottles are added next to you; the rest of the scene comes from your photo.
- Pets are coming later. For now the template is made for people; a pet version, where a cat or dog stands up and kicks, is planned.
Note
Photos that appear to show public figures, including actors, athletes, singers and influencers, are rejected before any credits are charged. Use photos of yourself or of friends who agreed to be in your video.
Ideas for your post#
- The confident caption. "Been training for this for 3 years" over the clip.
- The office edition. "Me after one YouTube karate tutorial" (with your colleague's photo, if they are in on it).
- The family series. Make one for each family member and post them back to back.
- A combo post. Follow it with the sassy AI Angry Dance Filter for a full comedy dump.
- Hashtags. #bottlekickchallenge, #bottlecapchallenge and #aitrend put your clip where people are already watching.
AI Bottle Kick Challenge vs. a CapCut template#
A CapCut template still needs you to film the kick yourself, or it only swaps a pet into a green-screen clip. With the AI version you upload one photo and get the whole skit, the stance, the practice kicks, the crash and the limp, as a finished video with your face, your clothes and your background. Nothing to film, nothing to edit, and nobody gets hurt.
Price and FAQ#
A 10-second Standard video costs 64 credits at 480p or 137 credits at 720p. Credit packs are one-time payments, start at $9.90 for 600 credits and never expire; see pricing for every pack.
